UTAKATA HOTEL HIMEJI

A group of seven from two families stayed here. The kids were thrilled and excited. The room was just as good as the photos on the website and other reviews have stated. I would like to stay here again in the future, so I will mention one disappointing point. It was a rainy day when we checked in, and there was a leak in the entrance and from the lighting in the room with the two beds lined up at the front. The leak in the entrance was particularly bad, with two spots causing water to seep into the room. We placed a bucket and trash can in the bathroom to wipe up the leaking water and catch it. The futon on our bed also got wet in two places, so we dried it with the provided hair dryer. This took over an hour to deal with, which significantly disrupted our dinner plans. Fortunately, the rain weakened after our stay, so the leak didn't recur, but knowing that it was there while we were sleeping made it difficult to sleep. I know that repairing a leak is difficult, but this needs to be fixed as soon as possible. Also, it seemed like they had forgotten to refill the toilet paper, as one of the bathrooms was almost out of toilet paper and had no spares, and the other bathroom was almost out of toilet paper and only had two spares. It was enough for one night for seven people, but it still felt a bit small. I'll list these two points as drawbacks of an inn with no staff. The facilities were impeccable. If I'm staying near Himeji Station again, this will definitely be my top priority.
