I booked this hotel because I needed somewhere convenient to stay during a day long layover in Hong Kong, and was curious about this iconic building (I'd previously eaten in their restaurant and it was fun). It completely blew away my expectations. I was initially a bit frustrated trying to find the reception coming from the train (I lost count of the number of elevators I needed to take - thank goodness they use staff like human signage to help guide people up). However, they have a great play area for kids that is better than probably any outside of destination beach resorts. I was able to entertain my 1 and 3 year old for half a day while avoiding the summertime heat. They also are really thoughtful in providing children bathrobes, slippers, and amenities in our room, above what I've seen from any other hotel. The staff are really nice as well and happy to help. We got upgraded to a harbor view and boy was that worth the upgrade. I'd honestly be tempted to pay for this view, which is not something I say about many (or any) hotel views. There's a nice windowsill seat and floor to ceiling windows that allowed us to enjoy the harbor view in the day, the sunset, and even the night light show (though honestly, that last one is probably better outside where you can hear the music). The kids loved it and they also loved being able to take a bath while watching cartoons on the bathroom TV. Like I said, one of the best hotels for children outside of a resort or something attached to a water park. I wish their bathrooms had Japanese styled bidets though. Maybe those are only in the actual suites. I also probably wouldn't stay here if I was actually trying to explore Hong Kong because it's a bit of a waste of all the hotel amenities, and leaving/coming back to the rooms is such a pain.
