Oia is absolutely breathtaking – one of the most beautiful and picturesque villages I've ever seen! The whitewashed buildings, iconic blue domes, charming narrow alleys, and stunning views over the caldera make every corner feel like a postcard. To fully explore Oia and walk from one end to the other (including the castle ruins, windmills, and all the hidden spots), you should allow at least 2 hours. Love stopping at any ancient ruins! Very crowded location but great views. The best part was finding a little souvenir shop with local artist artwork on our way traversing down the little streets to the ruins!

It was a cloudy afternoon at the Castle of Oia, so we missed the famous golden sunset — but the views were still stunning. The sky cast a soft, moody light over the whitewashed houses and caldera cliffs, creating a calm and almost magical atmosphere

The castle is a great place to see the sunset from, but even in less than peak times it is crowded. Either come an hour before sunset or, even better, find an alternative spot. The sunset is indeed amazing
